TERMS & CONDITIONS

The Bark Park at Brookhouse offers a safe and secure dog walking space available for private hire. 

Visitors are advised that important information regarding how to use the park is outlined herein.

When using our facilities, visitors agree to the following terms and conditions:

  • Safety is the responsibility of the visitor. Visitors must monitor their dog/s at all times, and must not leave their dog/s unattended.​

​​

  • The Bark Park is not responsible for any dog/s jumping over, digging under or damaging fencing, leading to an escape.

​

  • The Bark Park is not responsible for any injuries or personal losses that may occur from non-compliance with the terms and conditions herein.

​

  • Visitors should arrive no more than five minutes before their agreed booking slot.

​

  • Visitors must leave promptly at the end of their agreed booking slot. Please keep in mind the time it may take to retrieve your dog should they not come on command, so make allowances for this with plenty of time before the end of your booking slot.

​

  • There is a 5mph speed limit on all areas of the premises, including the entrance driveway.

​​

  • Visitors are expected to conduct themselves appropriately at all times.

​

  • Visitors may only use the park with an existing booking. Visitors arriving without a booking will not be granted entry.

​

  • Please note that the park is a self-service space and that staff may not be at hand at all times. Visitors are advised to carry a mobile phone at all times in case of emergency and in order to reach staff should issues arise.

​

  • Visitors must read these terms and conditions in full for all rules and requirements regarding their booking and information on how to use the park safely.

​

  • Visitors are advised that the premises surrounding the park is an active farm and that there may be horses passing by or using the entrance drive. Visitors must take caution when driving and prevent dogs from causing disruption to the horses, including barking.

​

  • No more than eight visitors are allowed in the park per booking with the exemption of group training sessions, which must be agreed upon by The Bark Park at the time of booking.

  • Visitors must not open gates or enter the park when it is in use by another user.

​

  • Visitors are expected to leave the park as they find it. Dropping litter, damaging equipment or failing to pick up dog waste may result in the refusal of the park for future use.

​

  • Any damages must be reported to us immediately.

​

  • Visitors finding any damage or litter from previous users are advised to contact us as soon as it is found.

​

  • Dog/s must be kept on a lead in any areas outside the gates, and remain on the lead until the gates are closed.

​

  • Should you arrive early, remain in your car with your dog/s until the previous user has left in order to avoid incidents between dogs.

​

  • Visitors must clean up any waste left by their dog/s and place it in the bin provided.

​

  • Visitors must fill in any holes left by their dog/s in both the field and the sand pit.

​

  • We understand that the play space is large and it is possible at times for visitors to miss waste or holes left by their dog/s. As The Bark Park is intended as a space for all to enjoy, helping to keep the space tidy and cleaning up any waste or holes that have been accidentally missed by others is appreciated.

​

  • Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.

​​

  • No more than eight visitors are allowed in the park per booking.

​

  • Though some items are provided, visitors are advised to bring their own poo bags, treats, toys, water and towels in case our supplies are depleted. There is no guarantee that we will have these items available for every visit.

​

  • Visitors are requested not to bring any in-heat bitches to The Bark Park, as this leaves scents that may cause disruption for other users.

​

  • All toys and equipment provided by The Bark Park must remain in the park. Please do not take these home with you.

​

  • Visitors are advised to bring torches or headlights and light-up collars if visiting after dark or at times when vision may be poor.

​

  • Visitors are advised to be aware that from time to time rabbits or other wildlife may be present in the park, which may result in dog/s taking chase. If you find any injured wildlife or misplaced babies, do not touch them, keep your dog away from them, and inform us immediately.

​

  • The fenced car park is the recommended point for unloading and loading dogs. This area holds one car at a time, please do not open the gates or attempt to enter this space with your car until the previous user has vacated the space.

​​

  • Visitors must not climb on the fencing or gates.

​

  • The visitor who made the booking is responsible for the safety and behaviour of all other party members attending the booking with them.

  • Gates to the car park must be kept closed. Do not let your dog out of the car unless the gates are closed.

​

  • Enter the passcode assigned to you with your booking confirmation on the combination padlock at the entrance of the park. Should there be any issues with your code, please let us know right away.

​

  • Passcodes are valid for one session only. 

​

  • Do not share your passcode with anyone, it is only valid for one session, so allowing another visitor to use it will result in no further admissions using the same code.

​

  • Visitors are responsible for double-checking that they have closed the gates securely. The Bark Park is not responsible for any escapes resulting from insecure fastening of the gates.

​

  • In order for it to operate, the gate needs a small gap at the bottom. Visitors are responsible for checking that their dog/s cannot fit through this gap before letting them off the lead.

​

  • When leaving, check that the gate is securely closed behind you and that the lock is returned, fastened, and numbers are rotated.

  • All equipment/activities in the park are for dog use only. Visitors may play with their dog/s in these spaces, but may not climb on, play on, or sit on the equipment.

​

  • The Bark Park is not responsible for any personal injury or damage to personal items that may occur from visitors misusing the equipment as stated above.

​

  • The sensory herb garden is not a space for digging. Visitors are asked to monitor their dog/s in this area and stop any digging.

​

  • Any damage to the equipment in the play space must be reported immediately for the safety of dog/s and visitors.

​

  • Visitors must monitor their dogs during the use of equipment, particularly any areas above ground level. The Bark Park is not responsible for any injuries that result from lack of monitoring.

​

  • Visitors are advised to use their judgment regarding the safety of the equipment when using it during wet weather. Equipment can become slippy during or following rain, so it is essential to check these surfaces before letting dog/s play on them.

​

  • Visitors are advised to use their judgement regarding their dog/s health and mobility when using the equipment. TheBark Park is not responsible for any injuries to dogs with health or mobility issues as a result of using the equipment.

​

  • The sandpit will be closed during winter and periods of heavy rain.

  • The shelter is designed for your comfort, however, when using the shelter, visitors must still monitor their dog from a distance. If your dog is using the play equipment, you must monitor them directly within their vicinity, not from the shelter.

​

  • Please take litter home with you and do not leave anywhere in the park.

​

  • The toy bank is located in the shelter, please feel free to use the toys but ensure that these are returned after use.

​

  • Poo bags are located by the shelter and the gate, and in various locations in the field, though visitors are advised to bring their own in case our supply has been depleted. If you notice that the poo bag dispenser is empty, please inform us.

​

  • Visitors are asked not to leave any food or drink items, dog treats or rubbish that may smell of food or have food residue on them in the bins. This is to prevent dogs from being attracted to the bins and to avoid the presence of vermin. Please take such items home with you.

​

  • Drinking water for dogs is available near the shelter. This is not suitable for humans, so please bring your own water with you.

  • We advise that all dogs are up to date with vaccinations, as well as flea, tick and worm treatment. The play space is used by many dogs, and The Bark Park is not responsible for any dog contracting illnesses, nor for the contraction of fleas, ticks or worms that may occur from a visit.

  • Puppies must have had all of their core vaccinations before visiting the park.

​

  • Visitors must not bring any dog/s displaying any symptoms of gastrointestinal illness, such as sickness and diarrhoea. Dog/s must be clear of all symptoms for five days before using the park.

​

  • Visitors must not bring any dog/s displaying symptoms of kennel cough, such as persistent coughing, runny nose or sneezing. Dog/s must be clear of all symptoms for five days before using the park.

​

  • Visitors must not bring any dog/s showing signs of infections, such as weeping or pussy wounds, eyes or other areas. Dog/s must be clear of all symptoms for five days before using the park.

​

  • Visitors must not bring any dog/s with potentially transferable diseases until a vet confirms that they are no longer infectious.

​

  • Visitors are advised to monitor dog/s who may be overexerting, particularly on hot days. Water bowls are available in the shelter and a tap is located outside the shelter, but visitors are advised to bring their own in case our supplies are depleted.

​

  • Dogs must never be left unattended in the park, even for a short amount of time. If you need to collect something from your car, your dog must be put back on the lead and come with you.

​

  • Dogs must never be left unattended in a car, even for a short amount of time. This is particularly applicable on hot days.

​

  • When attending with multiple dogs, visitors are responsible for monitoring them for any aggressive interactions. 

​

  • Dogs deemed aggressive or that usually wear a muzzle must be muzzled in the car park. Muzzles can be removed once inside the field.

​

  • The Bark Park is not responsible nor liable for any illness or injuries to dogs that result from visitors not adhering to the safety rules.

​

  • Should illness or infection be contracted by the dog/s of another visitor in the case of a visitor not adhering to the health rules, liability falls on said visitor and is not the responsibility of The Bark Park.

  • Visitors are advised to check the weather forecast before coming to the park. Extreme elements such as heat or heavy rain can pose a health risk to dogs. Visitors are advised to cancel their booking at least 24 hours in advance should they deem the forecast unsafe for their dog/s.

​

  • Visitors are advised to take caution during wet or icy conditions and are responsible for their own safety. Though we try to keep ground conditions safe, this cannot be guaranteed during unpredictable weather conditions and TheBark Park is not responsible for any slips or injuries to visitors when walking on ice or mud. Visitors are advised to wear suitable footwear.

​

  • In the event of extreme weather conditions, we may deem it necessary to close the park for the safety of visitors and dogs. Should this occur, we endeavour to offer sufficient warning and aim to provide you with an alternative booking slot, weather permitting.

  • We expect visitors to conduct themselves appropriately and respectfully in order to keep The Bark Park and the surrounding areas a space that is safe for all.

​

  • Disrespectful, abusive or threatening behaviour towards others will result in the visitor/s being asked to leave the property immediately and the refusal of future bookings.

​

  • Smoking, drinking alcohol or using drugs is strictly prohibited and will result in the visitor/s being asked to leave the property immediately and the refusal of future bookings.

​

  • Visitors are advised to give adequate space to other visitors and their dogs at all times, including in the car park or during cross-over times at the start or end of a booking.

​

  • Visitors must not access any other areas of the farm, excluding the public footpath. Dogs must be on leads when using the public footpaths. The park is the designated area for dogs and visitors, the surrounding fields are not.

​

  • Visitors must inform us immediately of any damage to equipment, fencing, gates or shelter so that we can ensure the safety of the park.

​

  • Visitors must use the bins provided. Purposely leaving litter or dog waste will result in the refusal of future bookings.

​

  • Visitors are asked to inform us immediately if any injury to dogs or persons occurs during the use of the park.

​

  • Visitors are asked to respect the local wildlife and horses in the surrounding areas. Dogs who are aggressive towards other animals or show excessive barking may not be suitable for the environment.

​

  • Visitors are asked to respect our neighbours when using the park, arriving or leaving. Please keep noise and barking to a minimum.

​

  • Visitors are asked not to play loud music in the park, the car park or surrounding areas.

​

  • Visitors abusing their dog/s will result in the visitor/s being asked to leave the property immediately and the refusal of future bookings. If deemed appropriate, this behaviour may also result in the visitor being reported to the RSPCA or other appropriate party.

​

  • Visitors attending with others are responsible for ensuring that everyone in the group has read and agreed to The Bark Park's terms and conditions. 

  • Visitors are asked to give a minimum of 24 hours notice when making a cancellation in order to receive a refund.

​

  • Refunds for customer cancellation are issued in the form of either coupons or an alternative booking slot. 

​

  • The Bark Park reserves the right to cancel the future bookings of any visitors found to be violating any of the terms and conditions herein with no notice and no refund will be issued.

​

  • The Bark Park reserves the right to terminate a booking at any point during the booking should a visitor be found violating any of the terms and conditions herein, and no refund will be issued.

​

  • The Bark Park reserves the right to cancel bookings in the case of unforeseen circumstances such as extreme weather conditions or safety concerns. The Bark Park endeavours to give the customer as much advance notice as possible in the case of an emergency cancellation, and a refund will be issued in the form of either coupons or an alternative booking slot.

  • The Bark Park accepts no liability for the injury or death of any visitors, either person or dog nor for damage to any personal property.

​

  • The Bark Park accepts no liability for any losses, claims, actions, damages, costs, expenses or other liability incurred whilst anywhere on the property.

​

  • The use of The Bark Park areas, facilities and equipment is entirely at the visitor's risk, and The Bark Park accepts no liability for any deaths, injuries or losses resulting from the misuse of these facilities.

​

  • The Bark Park accepts no liability for any escapes from the park or the car park that may occur as a result of lack of monitoring, or in the case where the visitor does not double-check the security of the gates.

​

  • Visitors are expected to bring their own torches and light-up collars when visiting after dark and at times when vision may be poor. The Bark Park accepts no liability for any deaths, injuries or losses that result from the visitor's failure to bring adequate lighting.

​

  • The Bark Park accepts no liability for damage to any vehicles whilst using the car park. Visitors are advised not to leave any valuables unattended in their vehicles.

​

  • Visitors are liable for any damage caused inside the park, the car park, and surrounding areas within the farm grounds by the visitor, their dog/s, or any other person in their party. This includes but is not limited to the field, the fencing, the gates, the equipment and enrichment features, the car park, the entrance drive and the surrounding areas.

​

  • All dogs must be covered under their own third-party insurance (public liability insurance). This is usually included in your pet insurance. Visitors are advised to check that this is applicable before making a booking.

​

  • Visitors are fully responsible for their dog/s' behaviour and actions and no claim may be made against The Bark Park for any death, injury or personal losses that result from poor management of said behaviour.

​

  • The Bark Park reserves the right to refuse refunds for any cancellations made by visitors.

​

  • The Bark Park reserves the right to refuse refunds for any cancellations made by The Bark Park on the basis that a visitor has not complied with the terms & conditions as outlined.

In alignment with the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, the following conditions must be met when bringing a prohibited breed to The Bark Park:

​

  • Visitors with a prohibited breed must ensure that their dog/s are muzzled in all public areas, kept on a lead no longer than one metre in length in any areas other than the park itself, and may only be let loose when the gates are securely fastened and double-checked.

​

  • Visitors with prohibited breeds must keep their dog/s in their car during change-over times at the start of a booking until the previous user has left, or if there are any other dog/s or visitors in the car park. Visitors are also asked to advise other owners in the car park of their dog's breed so that they may take precautions they deem necessary.

 

  • Visitors with a dog of a prohibited breed must use the enclosed carpark only.

​

  • Visitors may not bring prohibited breeds to The Bark Park via public footpaths.

​

  • Prohibited breeds may not visit The Bark Park with dog/s from any other household.

​

  • If owners have multiple dogs at home, including a prohibited breed, all household dogs may exercise together during one hire. However, there must be a 1:1 dog-to-handler ratio for each dog of a prohibited breed.

​

  • Dogs of a prohibited breed must be registered with The Index of Exempted Dogs (IED) and a copy of the life certificate must be sent to The Bark Park at the time of booking. Failure to present this document will result in a refusal of booking/s.

​

  • A copy of the Public Liability insurance certificate for the dog must be provided to The Bark Park at the time of booking. Failure to present this document will result in a refusal of booking/s.

​

  • All guidelines under The Index of Exempted Dogs must be strictly adhered to, including that the dog must be neutered, microchipped, kept on a lead no longer than 1 metre, and muzzled while in any public space.

​

  • Visitors must inform The Bark Park when making a booking if their dog/s are of a prohibited breed.

  • The Bark Park is committed to ensuring that visitors' information is protected.

​

  • The Bark Park will retain your personal information as customer records. This information will be kept securely and will not be shared with third parties.

​

  • The visitors' name/s and contact details are required when making a booking in order to monitor payments and make contact in the event of changes to bookings.

​

  • Correspondence between The Bark Park and the visitor remains private and will not be shared with any third parties, except in the case of a breach of these terms & conditions where legal action will be taken.

​

  • The Bark Park will not use customers' contact information for any spam or unrelated correspondence. Correspondence from The Bark Park will be relative only, for example, but not limited to, updates, emergency cancellations, etc.
